Coastal Cravings
I have now been here twice and they have a few gluten free options. Their crabcakes are gluten free and they have a gluten free fryer. This restaurant appeared on Diner’s Drive-in’s and Dive’s and the Seared Scallops dinner is labeled as “Guy’s Favorite.” It is marked online as gluten free but not on the physical menu they provide at the restaurant. However, I wanted to try the Seared Scallops so I asked if that was in fact gluten free. Our waiter went and checked with the kitchen, and let me know it was safe for me to eat so I ordered that and it was fantastic. Their crab cakes and fries are also very good.
Hatteras Bowls
This is a small stand and I had an acai bowl, which was great.
Kill Devil's Frozen Custard & Beach Fries
They have gluten free ice cream, which was great. They also have gluten free sandwiches and separately packaged buns. They also have gluten free fries, but some reviews show that sometimes they can run out.
The Colington Cafe
The Colington Cafe has a separate gluten free menu, which is even on their website. This place gets very busy during the high season, so I would recommend making a reservation.
The Saltbox Cafe
The Saltbox Cafe has items labeled gluten free on their menu. They are known for their crabcakes. Their desserts change daily, but they do offer gluten free dessert as well.
Barefoot Bernie's Tropical Grill & Bar
Barefoot Bernie’s has items marked on their main menu that are gluten free. They have a good selection of gluten free items, such as burgers, salads, seafood, and ribs.
Booty Treats Ice Cream & Shave Ice
Their menu clearly marks which flavors are gluten free. They understand cross contamination and will get your ice cream from a new container.
Single Fin Thai-Sushi Restaurant
Single Fin has a separate gluten free menu. They have many entrees and sushi to pick from. They also have gluten free soy sauce.
Stack'em High Pancakes and So Forth
They have gluten free french toast and other sides. They understand cross contamination protocols and take time with each customer.
Surfin' Spoon Frozen Yogurt
They clearly mark which flavors are gluten free. They also have premade gluten free ice cream sandwiches.
