Tuscany
Montepulciano
Ristorante degli Archi
We came to explore Montepulciano and had a scheduled wine tasting and tour. After the tasting we ended up going to a different restaurant that ended up not having availability. We ended up looking for another restaurant and found Ristorante degli Archi slightly hidden down a pathway. Boy, am I glad we found this restaurant. The risotto was phenomenal! Highly recommended if you are in Montepulciano.
San Quirico D'Orcia
Risotrante la Taverna Del Barbarossa
Fantastic gluten free pasta. This is where my husband discovered picci is his favorite pasta! We ended up going back a second night because it was so good! They also provided gluten free bread before the meal.
Non-Food Related Recommendation
We stayed at an agriturismo, which is a working farm. The one we stayed on was an olive farm. They typically have apartment style housing on the property and you can stay in the beautiful countryside. This was wonderful and beautiful place to stay. It also allowed us to have our own kitchen. We were here about halfway through out trip, and one of the days, we were both exhausted, so it was very nice to be able to go to the grocery store and buy some food and wine to enjoy on the property. If you are looking for places to stay in Tuscany, I highly recommend checking out some agriturismos. Here are the views from where we stayed.
