Washington, DC

RPM Italian

This restaurant has a large gluten free menu and they have fresh gluten free pasta. I ordered the Carbonara which was very good and my dinner arrived with an allergy marker. However, the highlight of the meal was the pistachio gelato. It was fantastic!

Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steakhouse

I was going with a group to this restaurant, which someone else chose. I could not find anything online on whether they could accommodate a gluten free meal, so I called the restaurant and spoke with a manager. At first, the manager did not answer my questions in a way I was comfortable, but after explaining my cross contamination concerns, the manager went and spoke with the chef. After speaking with the chef, he was able to answer my questions and explain their precautions with cross contamination. Additionally, we were planning to go during restaurant week, so he talked me through the restaurant week menu and the options that are gluten free. The manager explained none of the desserts on the restaurant week menu were gluten free but that he’d be happy to swap that for me. Once arriving there, the staff was able to answer my questions and I ordered the wedge salad for my appetizer, the steak for my main course, and I was given sorbet as my dessert. When the dessert arrived at the table, everyone else was jealous of my sorbet! A little ray of sunshine in the celiac world when you cannot eat everything, but your substitution is the one that everyone wants. AND the sorbet was incredible!

SEOULSPICE

This is a chain and they have a few locations in Washington, DC. They are a dedicated gluten free restaurant. They are set up similar to a sandwich shop or a chipotle where you walk down the counter and choose items to add to your meal. The meals are very reasonable priced. I have eaten here twice and both times were awesome.

Old Ebbitt Grill

Old Ebbitt Grill has a large gluten free menu. Your meal arrives with an allergy marker. Some of their praised food is steak, burgers, pasta, and the peanut butter pie. Please note they do not have a separate fryer, so their fries are not celiac safe.

District Taco

District Taco has many gluten free taco options on corn tortillas. You order on a kiosk and there is a button you click for gluten free. It is also recommended to note to the staff that it is an allergy, and they will change their gloves.

Joe's Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab

Joe’s has a separate gluten free menu. They offer seafood, steak, chicken, and dessert options.

Zaytinya

While Zaytinya’s has an allergen menu, it is limited on what is stated gluten free. However, the staff is very knowledgeable about what can be made gluten free and ensures precautions for cross contamination.
